Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career in the travel industry? Do you have excellent communication, management, and organizational skills? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our Operations Manager position.

We are looking for a motivated person to join our team as a full-time Operations Manager. This position entails working with our reservations team to organize RV tours, and then coordinating with our field staff to ensure they are executed to our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will act as a project manager, overseeing the logistics of planning out the trip itinerary while incorporating improvements to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. You will be responsible for managing communication through our reservations team with vendors such as campgrounds and activities, and coordinating with our guides to ensure smooth and safe operations.

The best fit for this role is an existing RVer who is looking for a flexible job in the industry. The job can be performed remotely, but we believe your presence in the office is very beneficial (e.g., during onboarding and at points in the busy season). Fortunately, we have a covered, full hookup spot for your use at the office! Other travel is not required for this position, but there will be the possibility of traveling with some of our amazing tours as part of this role. Additionally, we would consider hiring a couple to share in the job responsibilities, as we have had luck with this set up in the past.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of 30 tours and rallies per year
  • Manage team of reservation coordinators and perform quality control of their work product
  • Manage relationships with vendors and work to improve value for guests, while controlling costs to stay within tour budget
  • Assist in tour development and improvement
  • Ensure reservation contract database, files and logs are accurate and updated
  • Supervise production of travel itineraries and trip documents for guests
  • Coordinate with field staff and provide resources to guarantee a seamless tour
  • Be available outside of business hours for emergency support for staff on tour
  • Assist in managing inbound phone calls from guests and vendors

Skills

  • Proficient in project management and planning, with experience coordinating tours or events.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and correct issues and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines while holding to quality control standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Maps, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Knowledge of the RV and travel industries.
  • Understanding of business financial operations, specifically forecasting and budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage employees and drive results.
  • Experience in developing, updating, and implementing company policies and procedures.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of project or event planning experience
  • 4 years of experience leading teams

Preferred:

  • RV travel and tourism industry experience

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay: From $60,000/year depending on experience

  • 40 hours per week
  • 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday
